& Mindful Yoga

Spring 2020 w/ co-facilitator Cara Demu

Cara Demu and Kim Stetz met in college in the 80s, reunited in the 90s, talked about working together a decade ago and now they’re doing it!

Cara is a registered dietitian with a masters degree in public health nutrition. Her background includes extensive knowledge of Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic nutrition as well as expertise in functional medicine and nutrition supplementation. Her focus is the wellbeing of the whole person achieved through targeted nutrition and simple self care practices. Cara founded Thince soups in 2014, distributed in Whole Foods and holistic grocery stores, and sold the company in 2017.

Kim first tried juice fasting in the mid 90s at age 26 and has been juicing ever since. She initially tried juicing following Dr. Andrew Weil’s personal health regime when his books were pretty much the only reputable health and wellness guides out there. This sparked an interest in diet and going deeper into her yoga practice by studying Ayurveda with Dr. Pratima Raichur. Kim has followed vegan, raw, vegetarian, pescatarian, eating for her blood type, and Ayurvedic diets and then some. In 2010 when Kim got her certification as a holistic health coach from IIN, she combined her yoga teachings with nutritional guidance leading a dozen online detox programs through whole food eating, meditation and yoga. She also worked privately with clients customizing well rounded mind/body/spirit programs with commitments starting at six months lasting two years. To read about breaking her first juice fast with popcorn (nightmare!) go here.

This seasoned friendship is thrilled to offer their love and passion for healthy living, mind, and body on Cara’s property in Argyle, NY.

These practices are Buddhist based teachings designed to help you see your mind, be present with your current experience, and learn how to relax deeply and let go.

Please practice with kindness and without judging your thoughts.

Prepare yourself in a comfortable seated position or lying down before pressing play.

If you’ve never meditated before, please go here for guidance on how to sit, what to sit on, and why practice.
