The Hustle is Real

The hustle is real.

Keeping your game on point and relevant is part of the process. At least it is for this entrepreneur. I saw an inspirational clip of Judge Judy Sheindlin at a Forbes Women's Summit. The take away for me, "If you didn't make it in your twenties, you can make it in your thirties. And if you didn't make it in your thirties, you can make it in your forties. And if you didn't make it in your forties, you can make it in your fifties." I'll stop there. You get the point.

If you are doing something that you love that gives you satisfaction, you are on the right path. I must add, whatever you are doing needs to be relevant in the world. Same ol' same ol' isn't going to cut it.

If crypto and cannabis aka plant medicine are not a part of your conversations, then at the very least let it be a part of your curiosity.

Because of impermanence, because change is inevitable, this is how our society can learn to be inclusive of others AND make room for equitable opportunities in one's life time. This is precisely where I have found myself post-covid ready to roll and make an impact.

After living in the Pacific Northwest for a little over a year employing my skills as a medical social worker for seniors in the San Juan Islands and partnering with Chef Marq Hayes in our hospitality businesses (pop-up restaurant and social impact non-profit), I'm grateful to be back in my east village apartment.

A couple of reasons in particular brought me back to the city. For one, diving into an official therapy practice with my NY state license I earned before leaving NYC in March 2021. After scoping the NY market for the past five months, I'm excited to announce I've found the right fit at Pneuma Works in Chelsea. For more information you can find me on Psychology Today. I am open to new clients. Feel free to reply to this email with questions for me. I will respond to you directly.

And, two, all things cannabis! The learning curve is big on this one for me. I have the opportunity to be a dispensary owner through CAURD licensure because my partner, Marq, is eligible. The mergence of my holistic, harm reductions approach for healing has a natural fit with cannabis. And having owned a brick and mortar yoga studio, I'm not naive to the amount of discovery and patience required to be a part of this opportunity. The Mary Jane industry is something I never saw coming which to me means, I've still got it, and I've got it in me.

With or without a cannabis license, I have seen a transformation in my work with what I want to do, and have taken the steps in that direction. I am a yogi. My practice is a part of my life. I have taken the transferable skills of being a mindful community leader in yoga and mapped those onto what I can bring to clients and customers in these new spaces. With or without the cannabis license, I forge ahead learning about how I can contribute and learn in this new market.

There will be Crypto.

That much I know.
