Psychotherapy

Do you feel isolated and misunderstood?

Are you ready to go inward and discover your life’s purpose?

Welcome to mindful, trauma informed, life changing therapy.

I help my clients seek relief from anxiety, depression, grief, guilt, fear, and loneliness. The clinical work I do with clients has helped them become autonomous in their lives. My integrative services are for people who are generally well, yet innately know there is a deeper connection to self, other, and the universe. I work with clients on self-esteem and self-worth issues. The work for the client lies in remembering that they are the hero in their own story and can motivate change. We can work together by identifying your innate gifts and positive attributes. Everyone is creative and has something that is valuable within themselves and to society.

If you are someone who is suffering from trauma, know that you are brave and resilient and you will come through to the other side. We will initially establish trust and safety as well as strengthen your inner resources before diving in. Once the therapeutic relationship is established, untangling the details can help integrate the trauma into your life where it will have less impact on your overall well-being.

Common issues we address in therapy:

  • Life Transitions - these changes can include relationships, natural aging stages of life, empty nester, health issues, parenthood, or the death of a loved one.  You may feel overwhelmed by any of these changes resulting in feeling empty, without purpose or meaning yet overly anxious.

  • Trauma - has many forms and can present through triggers (reminders) that are often unconscious. We may feel overloaded or numb leaving us unable to cope and recalibrate or feeling “angry” for no apparent reason. We question if our life will ever feel “normal” again.  Residual effects include difficulty relaxing, looping thoughts/images, difficulty sleeping, mood swings, and physical ailments.

  • Discovering who you are - you may experience a life-changing event and want to integrate your new worldview. Or you may have a sense of unfulfillment and can’t help but think there’s got to be more to life than your current situation. This can leave you feeling misunderstood, lost, or even guilty because of a belief that you “should be happy.”

  • Living with a terminal illness or chronic disease - you are dealing with feelings of not wanting to burden others, yet you feel isolated. You are trying to create a life around the limitations of your illness yet exhausted and dealing with a debilitating diagnosis or prognosis.

The boundary to what we can accept is the boundary to our freedom.

I help guide my clients accept who they are and that change is always happening and an option despite feeling stuck. You can think of me as someone who is navigating your territory while we explore, one location at a time, your path toward healing and wholeness. My expertise and training guides me, as we notice your life’s territory in a new way. Mostly, I may slow things down and listen deeply so you can be seen. The therapeutic relationship is like no other relationship.

I offer a therapeutic modality called Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in partnership with an organization called Journey Clinical. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible patients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms. I take on the psychotherapy portion of the experience, while Journey Clinical’s medical team supports you on all medical aspects. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine, and monitoring outcomes. For more information about KAP go here.

Whether you are coming to see a therapist for the first time, or trying a new approach to working with mind and body, I am here to support you, building trust through collaboration, reflection, humor, and curiosity. Therapy is not a quick fix. I believe we all have inherent resources and strengths within us that can be accessed to aid in healing, growth, and living a joyful, meaningful life.
